2012 Ford C-Max Energi at 2011 Detroit Auto

 

Ford has recently announced its retraction of the seven-passenger C-Max for the U.S. market, while confirming the debut of the 2012 C-Max Hybrid and C-Max Energi set for later this year. Ford is planning to triple production capacity of electrified vehicles in the U.S. by 2013.

The 2012 C-Max Hybrid and Energi are both based on the European market five-passenger C-Max. The C-Max Hybrid is targeted to achieve a better than 41 miles per gallon on the highway, while the C-Max Energi boasts 500 miles of driving range from its battery and gasoline engines combined.

Both the Ford C-Max Hybrid and Energi are set to reach U.S. showrooms in 2012, ahead of the 2013 release date for Europe. Read more about the C-Max Hybrid and C-Max Energi here. Check out the video from Road and Track of the two C-Max models unveiled at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show below.
